Le Camp started as a small and stylish family run business. We intend to keep it this way. Green, wooded and undulating, Le Camp is large enough to offer space and privacy whilst still maintaining an intimate, exclusive feel. We are located in one of France’s most beautiful and unspoilt regions, with stunning and uninterrupted views over the Aveyron valley. You will find us about 90 minutes North East of Toulouse, close to the Gaillac wine region and the beautiful medieval towns of Saint‑Antonin‑Noble‑Val, Cordes‑sur‑Ciel and Najac.
Le Camp offers a complete luxury camping holiday experience. Each of our seven tented retreats is surrounded by plenty of private space and so there is a great appeal to stay in and relax. However, the local area also offers so many things to do, it is impossible to fit it all in. If peace and quiet is what you are looking for, you will certainly find it here. If your children are looking for holiday friends, they will find them here. You can relax knowing they are safe whilst they roam free with their new friends, exploring the natural environment and meet our pets and wildlife.
Natural Swimming Pool
Our natural swimming pool was one of the first in France and is still one of the largest in Europe. Cleansed naturally using gravels and reeds it is a unique chance to swim in harmony with nature. The perfect place to relax and watch the butterflies, frogs and dragonflies that are attracted by the fresh water and vegetation.
Our swimming pool has been carefully designed for everyone to enjoy. At 20 metres long, serious swimmers can really get going. The pebble beach and its surrounding rocks and plants is a wonderful, natural environment for young children to explore. Dive off the pontoon, hear the frogs’ chorus, or snooze under a tree on the day bed whilst listening to the gentle sounds of water. Your kids won’t want to get out! Not that it matters, because with absolutely no chlorine, salt or other nasty chemicals, you can rest assured that the water won’t harm their delicate skin or our fragile world.
Our Canvas Hideaways
We have created a small number of tasteful, spacious and comfortable canvas hideaways in our wooded hillside retreat. Each tent sits on a raised wooden platform and is designed to sympathetically blend with the surrounding landscape. Consisting of beautiful handmade wooden king size beds, comfortable deck furniture with plump cushions and shaded outside space. Solar power provides lighting and some tents also have phone charging facilities.
The Woodland Spa
Shower House
Sitting amongst the oaks, it is a unique indoor / outdoor shower experience. Light, airy and warmed by the sun, the individual shower rooms are spacious and comfortable. We provide fluffy white towels and recycle the grey (used) water to irrigate the flower garden and compost piles. Hand built in 2018, three of our exclusive tents now have en-suite safari style showers, using the surrounding trees and plants in their unique design as you wash away the day with a valley view.
For Kids
Plentiful toys, books and games, table tennis, petanque, football / cricket field and den building materials. Hide in the woods, chase frogs or hunt for glow worms. Le Camp is a safe place for children to roam free, run wild, make friends and be themselves.
The Summer Kitchen
Make a cup of tea, light the fire, or cook up a feast. This is your own fully equipped indoor/outdoor kitchen and a chance to self cater in style. With a fridge and individual cooking station for each family, here you can comfortably cook alongside other guests and share your favourite recipe over a glass of wine. Eat outside under the shady pergola or prepare a picnic to enjoy by the river. We have designed the summer kitchen to be a home from home experience. It has dishwashers, an electric oven, microwave, sharp knives, and all the utensils, pots, pans, bowls, cutlery, plates and glasses you need. If you want a splash of vinegar, a dash of oil, a pinch of salt, or some herbs and spices you will find that we’ve provided this too.
Of course, no camping holiday would be complete without a barbeque, so we’ve designed and built our own oil drum brai for some serious grilling! Each morning we provide complimentary hot drinks including fresh bean to cup coffees. Breakfast pastries & bread rolls are available to purchase, warm from the oven. We encourage guests to recycle as much as possible, and provide separate bins for compostable kitchen waste, glass & mixed recycling.
Whether you need to spend a few hours working, or just print a travel document, our camp office and WiFi is available to you. With desk, monitor, printer, scanner, USB mouse and keyboard, you can either book a time slot to plug in your own laptop, or just ask us to print something for you. Here you will also find leaflets about all the best local attractions, walks and restaurants but please do not hesitate to ask Claire for ideas and to make bookings on your behalf. She is here to help make your holiday planning as easy and fun as possible!
We've returned to Le Camp every year for 8 years. We love it. With only 7 tents in the large wooded valley, there is space to unwind in peace and tranquility. Our (now) teenage boys roam around the valley, jump in and out of the magical natural pool, play games and make friends with other children on the site - exactly as they did when they were 5 and 7 and we first came. They still love it as much.
For 7 years, Claire and Nigel have brought Le Camp to life and welcomed you with open arms. They’ve decided to take a new path in life, but it’s certain that a little piece of their soul will continue to hover here.
We’re Anne and Philippe. I love to cook (especially vegetables). I love the outdoors, but also reading by the fire. Philippe clears his head and strengthens his legs by cycling (he’s already explored a few circuits starting from the Camp!) He’s a keen DIY enthusiast. Like me, he loves the outdoors and reading by the fire. Together we took Tao Yin classes (a special mention to our teachers, Jean-Michel and Sophie). Since we left Normandy, we’ve been practising less assiduously and solo, but we still enjoy it just as much. It’s a practice we’d like to share with Camp guests who would like to discover it.
Since January, we’ve been the happy new owners of this eco-domain. We come from Ariège, where we managed a small traditional family campsite. Before that, we had a career as teachers, which in part shaped the people we are today.
The Le Camp eco-domain and us is the story of love at first sight.
The first thing that struck us was the serenity of the place. Here, nature envelops you with such grace that you get the incredible sensation of being one with it. An irresistible cocoon effect!
Secondly, we were totally won over by the Camp concept, halfway between a charming campsite and a guest house. We love the intimacy of the place. We love the combination of hotel comfort and the outdoor lifestyle offered by the tented lodges. We love the originality of the shared spaces that allow those who wish to do so to socialise, particularly in the unique open-air kitchen and on the lounge terrace.
Finally, we saw in Le Camp the possibility of aligning our personal values with those of our professional activity: for a long time, the management of Le Camp has been oriented towards ecology. The symbol of this choice is without doubt the plant-filtered swimming pool. It’s a real little Eden! You can’t imagine the pleasure we get from offering you the chance to swim in this natural pool.
The Camp is a truly confidential place, which means we can take the time to welcome each and every one of you like a VIP. We can’t wait for the season to start and we’re sure we’ll meet some great people 😊
